Bangalore is surrounded by incredible off-road terrain that most riders never discover. Within just 60-100km of the city, you can find everything from smooth gravel forest roads to technical rock gardens that will test even experienced riders. Here are the top 7 off-road trails near Bangalore that DRC regularly rides. 1. Kanakapura Trails (45km from Bangalore): Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. The Kanakapura region south of Bangalore offers some of the most accessible off-road riding in Karnataka. Perfect for beginners getting their first taste of dirt. Best season: August to February. 2. Ramanagara Rocky Circuit (55km from Bangalore): Difficulty: Moderate to Hard. Famous for its dramatic boulder formations (you might recognize them from the movie Sholay), Ramanagara offers technical rocky terrain that demands precise throttle control and line selection. The trails wind through granite formations with steep climbs and descents. Not for beginners. Best season: October to March. 3. Savandurga Hill Trails (60km from Bangalore): Difficulty: Moderate. The terrain is mostly firm earth with some sandy patches near the water. Great for group rides. 5. Anthargange Night Trails (70km from Bangalore): Difficulty: Moderate to Hard. The volcanic rock formations at Anthargange create a unique riding environment. The trails here include caves, boulders, and steep rocky climbs. DRC organizes special night rides here during full moon weekends. 6. Shivanasamudra Falls Route (130km from Bangalore): Difficulty: Moderate. The route to these spectacular waterfalls passes through beautiful countryside with plenty of off-road diversions. The terrain near the falls is rocky with river crossings during monsoon.
